This year's Lincoln Day Dinner was a great success. We had a packed house with standing room only. The crowd was wonderful and the speakers were amazing. If there was ever any doubt in my mind that the good people of Macoupin County were ready to take a stand against what is going on in our state and in our nation, it was dismissed last night with every standing ovation.
I would like to thank all of our speakers; Representative Jim Watson, Jason Plummer, Sam McCann, Wayne Rosethal, Steve Kim and Bobby Schilling.
I would also like to thank Tammy Boston for all her hard work with the decorations, those who helped decorated the hall and those who stayed to helped with the clean-up.
A special "Thank You" to Barry Lakin, our Chairman Emeritus, for being my mentor and my friend. This year's Lincoln Day Dinner was dedicated to Barry and his wife Donna, who passed away last year, in honor of all their hard work and dedication to the Republican Party.
I look forward to seeing everyone again next year and hope that you bring a friend.
